Members give the Peace River Wildlife Center its Heart

Peace River Wildlife Center Members Rescuing, rehabilitating, and restoring wildlife to their proper place in nature is at the core of the PEACE RIVER'S mission. Some creatures cannot prosper in the wild, even after care, they become life-long residents at our center in Punta Gorda.
Providing these services to our wild friends requires resources: veterinary and pharmaceutical care, food, water and electricity. The PRWC is a non-profit organization run mostly by volunteers.

Membership fees help defray these and other expenses. But membership means more than dues.

Members are invited to the center's meetings and they are voting constituents. The center needs and appreciates their advice and counsel and on-going support. Our members are essential to the center and its mission. All memberships include a 10% discount in our gift shop.

Anxious to put your values to the test? Fly like an eagle and volunteer today with the Peace River Wildlife Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Peace River Wildlife Center Volunteers Currently the center has over 100 active volunteers contributing more than 12,000 hours a year in the service of injured wild birds or wild animals. They make a significant difference for the creatures they serve and they bring the Peace River Wildlife Center's mission to life, whether they are involved in education, fund raising, or wildlife work.

Tours are provided at no cost to visitors. Patients are accepted gratis and we provide the educational programs as part of community service. We depend upon private donations for our existence.

The generosity of these donations extends to memorials, bequests and legacies. We are a IRS Qualified Charity, have a Brokerage Account with Edward Jones, and we also accept donations of any type of Stocks, Annuities, Real Estate, IRA's, or other Securities. Peace River Wildlife Center has a partnership with any Florida Community Bank to accept donations.

Come to all of our Fundraisers and join in on the fun!

A substantial part of our ongoing fund-raising is derived from our "aluminum cans" recycling program. Drop-offs are accepted seven days a week; there are four large containers located by the back gate right on Ponce de Leon Pkwy leading onto the park.

We're continually crushing and hauling. Additionally, you can take your recyclables to Allied Recycling and let them know you would like the proceeds of your donation to be given to the Peace River Wildlife Center.

Allied Recycling Inc. 4137 James Street Suite D Port Charlotte 941-627-4545 Located in the Whidden Industrial Park.

While we are limited to accepting aluminum soft drink and beer cans at our PRWC facility, They accept a variety of materials, including but not limited to aluminum cans, soffit fascia, copper tubing, and brass fixtures. They will give the person donating a receipt, telling them what their donation is worth.
